We were at my in-law’s house for the last two days of our vacation and there were 8 children age 7 and under present. It was a joyous cacophony. Sweet innocence mingled with twinkling-eyed mischief.
Above all the noise one theme stands out stands out in my mind: Daddy’s Little Girl.
I hope you enjoy the visual and word pictures that follow: Three sweet little girls, dressed as princesses, frolicking without a care in the world. Wearing Disney princess costumes with plastic necklaces, and running, and giggling. They were free from cares about what others thought. They were free from rules and limits, they were free from worry about tomorrow or regret about the past. They were FREE.
They were completely Daddy’s little girls. The little princesses were secure in the love of their Dads. They were twirling and twinkling, singing and spinning. They were at home. Home. A place where there is no judgment, no condemnation, no criticism. It’s completely safe.
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1- NIV
Jesus says: “… I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10b
My little girl, at home, secure in the love of her dad. I want to be in her shoes. She is the role model for my faith.
Thank you, little ladies, for the beautiful reminder of what security and joy in the love of our heavenly Daddy looks like. Thank you for showing me freedom, faith and full life! Help me Heavenly Daddy to become more and more like those little girls in our relationship. I love you, Abba Father, Heavenly Daddy. Amen!
Here’s a song for the little girls out there!
